Did that beginning sentence catch your attention, I know for me it did? I can recall a time where, I was 70 pounds overweight, riddled with pain, exhausted, overwhelmed, depressed and uptight with very little patience for my children.
I sacrificed on sleep, exercise, quiet time and my own needs, so I could care and serve everyone else. (See more of where that lead me below.)
"I was the typical woman with a servant’s heart, raised to believe you had to sacrifice yourself in order to care for others."
My mom didn’t intentionally teach me this; I just watched her give her all to the family without ever asking for her own needs to be met.
Does this resonate with you? Most of my clients like you, have a nurturing heart, and care deeply for their loved ones and want to be sure their children get the BEST care possible.
We are raising children, building careers, caring for loved ones, serving in churches, home-schooling, running businesses and/or volunteering in our community. Some of you are single Moms who have had no choice but to play the role of both Mom and Dad, (I've been there too). We end up burnt out, overwhelmed and ill. I have seen dear friends end up with terminal cancer, chronic pain and sickness, with no choice but to let others care for them.
I’d like to let you in on a secret, are you ready…okay it’s not really a secret…but if we didn’t refill the gas tank in our car we would run out of gas and eventually be stranded. We would need to be towed, costing us money, time, stress and who knows what else.
Are you catching what I am throwing here?.....(insert smile)...because I know you are!
See pictures below: That's me on the left about 6 years ago, we were at my husband's Award Gala, I could not enjoy myself because I was so insecure, (although I look at that picture now and think, Jen you were beautiful...I didn't feel that way.)...I hid behind alcohol, food and overwhelm. Years of sacrificing self care and insecurity will do that to you. Picture on the right is me and my husband after almost 13 years of being together...see the genuine joy.
"I learned to ask for what I need to get help and support. I learned how to practice self care and refill my love tank."
I ask you to make a decision. A decision that will not only help you become a better Mom, Wife, and Caregiver, but will help you become the best version of you.
Say yes to yourself to allow someone else to help you. I personally get so caught up in doing everything myself, I forget that people are all around to help and support me. (And the truth be told the support and accountability that I invest in, is the one I show up for!)
Working with me as your coach is not just about the food choices, it is about you as well and getting you the support you need, someone who gets your lifestyle without judgement. I am not here to tell you what is wrong with what you are eating, I am hear to help you draw out the not so great with the SO MUCH BETTER. So much of what our World focuses on the negative, isn't time for stand for something different?
What will you stand for?
- Stand for your own self care so you can keep up with your demanding life
- Stand for saying yes to yourself and getting the support YOU need
- Stand for focusing on drawing out more of the good
- Stand for Nourishing the Gift of Wellness
